Segway Navimow i105N vs Anthbot M9: Robot Mowers Compared

Updated · Price Drop Radar

Bottom line

Both are wire-free RTK mowers for small yards, and both need an antenna or reference station with a clear view of the sky. The Anthbot M9 is rated for about twice the lawn (1,000 m2 vs 500 m2), climbs 45% slopes to the Navimow's 30%, cuts a slightly wider 7.9 in path and runs longer per charge. The Segway Navimow i105N costs less, and Reviewed praised how well it steers around footballs, tools, chairs and pets. Pick the M9 for a yard near a quarter acre or with a slope. Pick the Navimow for a small, cluttered yard of about 1/8 acre or less.

What to look for

Sky view for the RTK antenna

Why it matters: Both mowers get their position from satellites, so a blocked sky can stop them or throw off the map.

How to check: Pick a spot for the antenna or station that sees open sky, away from roof lines and tree canopy, before you buy.

Watch out: Gadget Review notes the spot that works is usually farther out in the yard than you want, and one tester had to move the station because a house and a tree blocked the signal.

Lawn size and real runtime

Why it matters: A mower that can't finish a mow on one charge returns to the dock and resumes, which stretches the job.

How to check: Compare your lawn to the rated area, then to the runtime: about 60 minutes for the Navimow, 70 to 90 for the M9.

Watch out: Reviewed's M9 finished about 80% of its lawn in 77 minutes before it went to recharge.

Edges and corners

Why it matters: Both mowers leave some grass along walls, beds and corners that you finish by hand.

How to check: Walk the edge of your lawn and note walls, fences and planted beds the mower can't drive over.

Watch out: Gadget Review measured the M9's cutting disc about 9 cm in from the housing edge. Android Police found the Navimow needs touch-ups in corners.

Grass height and mowing frequency

Why it matters: Both use small razor blades and a camera, so they work best on lawns kept short.

How to check: Plan to run either one every few days, not once a week.

Watch out: Gadget Review says the M9's vision can read tall grass as a solid object, and Anthbot tells owners to bring the lawn under 7 cm before mapping.

Slopes

Why it matters: Steep ground is where a mower's drive and tires decide whether it finishes the job.

How to check: Find your steepest section. A 10-foot rise over 20 feet is 50%.

Watch out: The Navimow is rated 30% and the M9 45%, both manufacturer figures. Segway lists only 10% at the lawn boundary.

Traps and timing

  • The Amazon listing for the M9 is a bundle that includes a garage. Gadget Review says the garage adds about $70 in a bundle, so check what is in the box before comparing prices.
  • The Navimow's size has been reported two ways. Segway's launch coverage said 1/4 acre, while Segway's spec table and Reviewed list about 1/8 acre (500 m2). Plan for 1/8.
  • Segway's website calls the series the i105, and Amazon lists the i105N. Confirm the N on the listing, since the specs on this page come from the i105N reviews and Segway's i105 table.
  • The M9's 1,000 m2 rating is Anthbot's claim. Reviewed's yard was patchy and the mower needed a recharge partway through, so a lawn near the limit means a longer job.
  • Prices for both change often. Gadget Review reports the M9 selling closer to $649 for most of the year, well under its $899 list.

Before you check out

  • Measure your lawn and compare it to 500 m2 (Navimow) and 1,000 m2 (M9).
  • Find a spot with open sky for the antenna or RTK station.
  • Note your steepest slope and compare it to 30% and 45%.
  • List the walls, beds and corners you will still trim by hand.
  • Confirm the model on the listing: i105N or M9.
  • Check the live Amazon price and what is in the box.

How we put this together

We don't test robot lawn mowers in a lab. We compared the makers' published specs, the Amazon listings and independent reviews, all listed under Sources, and where they disagree we say so. Prices come from Amazon and are refreshed by our system throughout the day.

Price Drop Radar earns a commission on qualifying Amazon purchases made through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. That never decides which product we recommend.
